1. Introduction

Welcome to Squirrel ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use the Squirrel web application and Chrome extension.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us or through the application's automated features:

  • Authentication Information: When you sign in with Firebase/Google, we receive your email and name to create and manage your account.
  • Bookmark Data: We store the URLs and titles of the pages you explicitly choose to save to Squirrel.
  • Chrome Extension Usage: The extension accesses the current tab's URL and title only when prompted by your interaction to save a bookmark.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

  • Provide and maintain your Squirrel account.
  • Synchronize your bookmarks across devices.
  • Allow you to share and collaborate on bookmark folders with other users.
  • Improve the functionality and security of our services.

4. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures (including SSL encryption and Firebase security rules) to protect your data. Your bookmarks are private to your account or shared only with members you explicitly invite to a folder.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to access, update, or delete your bookmarks and account information at any time through the Squirrel dashboard.
